Train with aplan builtround your week.

Fifteen people at a time. That is the whole business. You get a programme written for your week, not a template, and a message on a Sunday asking how it went.

Groundwork

Knee okay after Monday? Go lighter on the bike if not.

Is this for you?

Three questions before you message me.

Mostly I work with people who have already tried doing it alone. This takes twenty seconds and tells you which way I would point you.

How many hours a week can you honestly give this?

If you want six days a week and a stage tan, I am the wrong trainer and I will say so on the call.

Check-in

  • A message from me. How did it go?

The check-in

Every Sunday. This is the part that works.

What went well, what did not, what changes next week. The plan on your phone updates before Monday. Nobody drifts off for a month without somebody noticing.

Example conversation

  1. Groundwork

Sunday. How did the week go? Be honest, I would rather know.

  2. You

Got Mon and Wed in. Missed Thursday, knee was sore after the lunges.

  3. Groundwork

Two out of three is fine. Which bit of the knee, front or inside?

  4. You

Front, just under the kneecap. Fine today.

  5. Groundwork

Swapping split squats for step-ups next week and dropping the depth. Thursday becomes the bike session, no lunges. Plan is updated on your phone.

  6. You

    Cheers. Saturday felt strong.

About me

One person, and that is the point.

I started coaching in 2016 after years of doing it badly on my own. Still training four times a week, which matters more than it sounds.

You will not be handed to an assistant. The person on the call is the person who writes your plan and the person who answers a message on a Tuesday night.

  • Level 3 personal trainer
  • Pre & post natal
  • Fully insured
  • First aid

I have had three trainers. This is the first one who asked what my week looked like before writing anything down.

Client, eighteen months · demo copy

The Sunday message is the thing. I have never once drifted off for a month without somebody noticing.

Client, two years · demo copy

I came in with a dodgy shoulder expecting to be told to rest. Instead we worked round it and it is better than it was.

Questions

The ones I get asked on the call.

It is most of who I work with. The first session is mostly me watching how you move and asking questions, and you leave with the first four weeks written down.

That is the plan I would write. Three hours a week, done properly and consistently, beats six hours that you give up on in a month.

Yes, or a reasonable bit of kit at home. Tell me what you have access to on the call and I will tell you honestly whether it is enough.

Any month. There is no contract and no joining fee, so pausing costs you nothing but the month you are away.

Book a call

Twenty minutes, no pitch.

Tell me what you are after and I will say honestly whether I can help. If I cannot, I probably know somebody who can.

This form is part of the demo and does not send anything.

Groundwork is not a real business. We built it to show what a personal trainer website can do. Yours would be designed around your own prices, photos and customers, from £50 a month with hosting and updates included.
